Full Job Description
The Senior Commercial Counsel position is responsible for optimizing organizational efficiency and effectiveness regarding commercial legal matters. This position is responsible for the negotiation and management of customer and vendor contracts. The Senior Commercial Counsel will create practices that strengthen Term’s and Conditions to support operations and will oversee 3rd party partner legal firms.
The requirements for this position are as follows:
EDUCATION:
Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school and bar admission. Sound knowledge of statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to business. Proficient understanding of business sensitivities and confidentiality.
EXPERIENCE:
8 years inhouse or in combination with law firm experience required. Experience with U.S. Government contract a plus. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills a must. Excellent business judgement, superior leadership skills and a delivery-oriented attitude required.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:
Skilled at drafting contracts and writing persuasively for third-party audiences.
Extensive knowledge of contract and tort law.
Exceptional business judgement, superior leadership skills, and solid delivery skills.
Solid presentation skills to business groups of all levels within an organization.
Excellent conflict resolution skills.
LOCATION: Atlanta, GA
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support commercial sales by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements such as sales agreements, software license agreements, service and support agreements.
Serve as principal point of contact for legal matters, anticipate issues, proactively provide guidance and potential solutions.
Maintain knowledge of organization’s operations and legal documents.
Serve as primary resource for government contracting questions.
Assist management in identifying and analyzing legal issues connected with business and operational matters, identify potential solutions.
Work with operations team to ensure contract compliance and strategize counterparty non-compliance.
Assist with the training and integration of key stakeholders in acquired business lines.
Earn confidence and trust of executives and managers through highest ethical standards and behaviors.
Travel may be required up to 15% of time.
