General Counsel

The General Counsel evaluates and helps to mitigate risk for the organization across all aspects of the business. He or she is responsible for ensuring the Company’s compliance with laws, rules and regulations. The General Counsel also ensures compliance with SEC, franchise, employment, advertising and trademarks laws, as well as managing outside counsel for the Company. He or she reviews applicable laws, policies, and regulations to determine positions that best protect the Company and communicates with business units to support legal compliance and consistency.
The General Counsel will draft and negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers and other third parties. The General Counsel responds to day-to-day questions from management and employees, providing advice that will support compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies and provides guidance to management to assist the business in resolving disputes and to ensure consistent, appropriate, and cost-effective handling of legal matters.
Required Competencies
Ability to negotiate contracts, addendums, settlements and other resolutions of disputed matters favorable to the Company.
Identification of potential risks to the Company and development of plans and processes to minimize or eliminate the risks.
