| The Associate General Counsel offers legal guidance, services, and support across various aspects of the organization’s operations, under the direction of the General Counsel. This role will be involved in a broad range of legal matters, including but not limited to contracts, product-related risk management, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, human resources, insurance, and corporate governance. Associate General Counsel Location: Janesville, WI Job Type: Full time Salary range: $115,000 to $125,000 Job Functions: Assists in negotiating, drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and agreements Provides advice on corporate governance and legal issues Conducts legal research and analysis on various issues Ensures compliance with all local and national laws and regulations Maintains a library of contract templates, historical legal files, and other related documentation Supports the legal department in managing internal and external legal sources Assists with compliance matters and ensures that the organization operates within legal guidelines Supports the legal department in litigation matters Works closely with internal departments to provide legal guidance and support on various matters Keeps abreast of legal developments and updates relevant to the organization's operations Maintains absolute confidentiality Performs other duties and/or tasks as assigned Skills: Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and see tasks through to completion Ability to see big picture issues, combined with strong attention to detail Ability to analyze risk and make risk determinations Ability to think strategically Demonstrated integrity, strong work ethic and sound judgment Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality standards Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and a demonstrated ability to communicate complex legal requirements to non-legal audiences Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to establish and build rapport with team members and external third parties Experience reviewing, negotiating, drafting and enforcing contracts Experience with litigation-related matters and processes Knowledge of general intellectual property principles, particularly trademark law Knowledge of general insurance principles Knowledge of general litigation principles Strong Microsoft 365 and Adobe skills Required Qualifications and Education: Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school 4 years minimum of relevant legal experience in related field Admission to practice in the State of Wisconsin and license to practice in good standing Travel needs for this role are minimal and rare (<5%) Physical Demands: Must be able to sit for 7+ hours a day Must be mobile within an office space to access files, office and/or computer equipment Must be able to operate customary office equipment, including a computer, telephone, copier/scanner Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English Must be able to read from a screen Regular, predictable attendance required during standard business hours Benefits: Health Insurance Vision Insurance Dental Insurance 401(k) Life Insurance: AD&D Insurance Disability Insurance Flexible Spending Account Employee Assistance Program Employee Discount Paid Sick/Personal Time Paid Vacation Time 78898 |
